The Pearl Dove wandered along the lonely road that cut through the green landscape and separated the forest to her left from the mystically looking marsh to her right.
Today had started great for her and she was already able to collect a few plants that she needed for a patient she had back at home.
The only thing left to find was an Angelberry, but as those are very rare, she wasn’t able to discover a batch of them yet. So Metra continued to look out for a golden shine out of the trees.
She wandered along the way, always observing the treetops, but the only things she could see was a lot of cotton and a few diz scattered between the cotton plants.
“Maybe her luck ran out for today”, Metra thought to herself and sighed.
She would most likely have to find something else to treat the sick Kukuri she had at home or she would have to go the nearest village again and purchase a few, although she hasn’t got enough money for that…

All of a sudden, she could see a golden shimmer from the corner of her eye and Metra quickly turned around and rushed to the tree she had seen it in.
The leaves hid most of the shimmer, but a small amber colored tail tip hung out of the lower treetop and Metras heart sunk again in her chest.
It was probably just an other Kukuri, gathering a few Herbs out here.
Oh well, maybe they knew where to find a few angelberries.

Metra tried to get the attention of the fellow Kukuri by chirping slightly and before she could react a curious, spotted head shot out of the leaves.
The other Kukuri was just a few inches away, having misjudged the distance between him and the sudden chirping sound from Metra.
The slightly smaller dove shot back, surprised by the sudden movements and her breath stopped for a minute, before she was able to calm down again.
She laughed it off quickly and asked the stranger if they knew where to find angelberries nearby.
The spotted stranger listened carefully, his ears moving slightly every time her chirps changed their tone and his large grey eyes watched her curiously.

When she finished explaining her situation to the Rook, he smiled at her and suddenly picked her up by the lower neck.
The stranger pulled her up in the treetop with his strong jaw and when her head was through the leaves she was astonished by what she discovered.
There were angelberries hanging in the whole crown, which was seemingly empty on the inside.

Large, strong branches allowed the Kukuri to safely move in the crown and enabled the Kukuris to collect the rare berries without much effort and danger.
She chirped out of joy and turned around to the Rook again as she heard soft laughter behind her back.
The light Rook with the multicolored glowing stripe along his side seemed rather amused about her amazement and Metra huffed, playing to be offended.
She turned around again and with a bright smile
Metra moved along a more flattened out branch slowly and carefully before she reached out to one of the shimmering berries.
She reached out hesitantly and gently picked the berry from small branch it had hung on.
Looking back at the Rook, she widely smiled and chirped out a small thank you.

The Rook returned the smile quickly, before he turned around again and collected a few of the berries himself.
His golden and green shine reflected on the gorgeous berries and to Metra he shone as bright as the berries themselves.
